Creating Your Own Healthy Cereal

Cereal is such an easy and cheap breakfast for busy mornings. The problem is that most typical boxed cereals on the market are extremely high in added sugars.

Breakfast, as the first meal of the day, is very important for starting your day off right. Eating a well balanced meal that contains healthy fats, protein, and carbohydrates will help regulate your blood sugar and keep you fuller for longer.

The problem with most cereal is that is primarily simple carbs, without much protein. This means that one bowl of cereal is likely not very satisfying. High sugar cereals will also spike your blood sugar, followed by an energy crash.

Chia seeds and hemp hearts are both offered as a base, containing high levels of minerals and omega-3 fats. Lastly, if you are looking for more of a crunch in your base, buckwheat hearts or brown rice crisps are a better option.

2. Nuts & Seeds
